Breast Implant Removal – Regain Your Natural Look and Comfort
Breast implant removal surgery is a surgical procedure that involves removing the implants from the patient's breasts. This procedure is performed for various reasons, such as a change in aesthetic preferences, health problems related to the implants, or the need to replace them after years of use.
How is the procedure performed?
The surgery to remove the implants is performed under general anesthesia and takes 1.5 to 3 hours, depending on the complexity. The surgeon makes incisions in the areas previously used to place the implants (usually in the fold under the breast or around the areola). After the implants are removed, the surgeon thoroughly cleans the post-implant space and, if necessary, performs additional procedures such as a capsulectomy (removal of the fibrous capsule surrounding the implant) or a breast lift to give them the right shape.
What are the benefits?
The decision to remove implants can significantly improve the patient's quality of life and health. For many women, this procedure means a return to a more natural appearance, as well as the elimination of implant-related ailments such as pain, asymmetry, and so-called breast implant disease (BII). The effects of the procedure are visible immediately, but the final appearance of the breasts stabilizes after a few months.
Convalescence
After the procedure, the patient wears a special support bra for several weeks, which allows for proper tissue healing. In the first few days, swelling, bruising or discomfort may occur, which gradually subsides. Most patients return to normal activity after about 2-4 weeks, but full recovery instructions are tailored to the individual. Intense physical activity is usually limited for 8-12 weeks.
Indications and contraindications
The procedure is suitable for women who wish to remove their implants for aesthetic, health or age-related reasons.
Contraindications to surgery may include: unregulated chronic diseases (e.g. diabetes, hypertension), tendency to develop keloid scars, blood clotting disorders or active infections in the body.
Cost of the procedure
The cost of breast implant removal surgery ranges from PLN 16,000 to PLN 25,000 *.
*The prices listed are approximate and may vary depending on the individual needs of the patient, the scope of the procedure and the specifics of the operation.
